VEREMA considers Luis Cañas as the Spanish Wine Cellar with the Best Track Record

USERS OF VEREMA GAVE THE WINERY THEIR VOTE

A poll of users of Verema voted Bodegas Luis Cañas the distinction of being the Wine Cellar with the Best Track Record in the prizes they award each year to the most outstanding wines, wineries and personalities.
A prize which recognizes the spectacular evolution the wine cellar has undergone in recent years, since it has been the family’s way of life for generations, growing from a winery producing young red cosechero wines to one of the benchmarks in Spain, thanks to its great aged wines.
Today, present in over 45 countries, it has won major awards, unbeatable reviews from the most respected specialist press, and has broadened its horizons with a new cellar in the Rioja Alavesa (Bodegas Amaren) which Juan Luis Cañas set up as a homage to his mother. At the present time, moreover, the group is expanding with a cellar in Ribera del Duero (Dominio de Cair). This all springs from the passion, hard work and a philosophy based on maximum quality and, as Juan Luis Cañas stresses, “The most important things is not the financial profit but rather for us to feel proud of our work, to know that we can still improve and to give our customers unforgettable moments of joy, and of course, to see how emotional my father feels when he sees the results of all the hard work he put into the business together with my mother”
The Cañas family is even more proud to receive this award knowing that it was decided by discerning wine lovers.
The prize was presented to José Miguel Zubia, Sales Manager of Familia Luis Cañas by Juan Such, co-founder and director of Verema.

DOMINIO DE CAIR AND MARTIN BERASATEGUI COLLABORATE WITH THE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS FOUNDATION

THE LOIDI RESTAURANT WAS AGAIN THE PERFECT STAGE FOR A GREAT OCCASION

On the last Wednesday in May an event took place in the Loidi Restaurant in Barcelona which was a true example of solidarity. The “Tapas y Bodegas” event, which the restaurant organized with great success and thanks to the customary mastery of the host, Basque chef Martín Berasategui, served to support the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Bodegas Dominio de Cair could not miss the opportunity to be part of such a noble gesture, which with the cocktail-dinner format, also launched a new terrace tapas menu for the Loidi restaurant. Moreover, Martín, the Spanish chef with the most Michelin stars to his name, made everyone feel completely at home, greeting and serving those present with his typical natural, friendly charm.

This time it was Bodegas Dominio de Cair who represented the Luis Cañas Family, although wines from the three cellars have a strong presence on the Barcelona restaurant’s wine list.

Oscar Fernández, Mein Host and Sommelier, led his team masterfully to ensure everyone enjoyed great cuisine, some fantastic wines and, last but not least, some marvelous company.

THE VISIT – WINE TOURISM PROJECT IN ARANDA DE DUERO

“Everybody must know the magic of the culture of wine, its gastronomy and the leisure activities surrounding it”

With this in mind, last March saw the presentation of “The Visit” of Aranda in Dominio de Cair.

This novel wine tourism project sprang from an initiative of 7 successful Arana de Duero-based businesses: Bodega Dominio de Cair , Casa Florencio, , Hotel Villa de Aranda, , La Traviesa, Galería de Arte Rodrigo Juarranz, Bodega López Cristóbal and Bodega Histórica Don Carlos. They brought together all their combined prestige and joined forces to present a single marketing package with a quality label and look for synergies in order to take on the challenge of selling the Ribera de Duero quality label through wine tourism packages. A video shows off the culture, gastronomy and wine and leisure attractions that the project’s partners offer visitors.
